Southern Connecticut State University Parking Garage

Wintergreen parking garage is located next to Moore Field House and Jess Dow Field on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University. This $18 million State of Connecticut Department of Public Works project included the construction of a 355,172-square-foot, five-story parking garage and provides an additional 20 to 25 percent, or a little over 800 parking spaces, to the university's overall parking capacity, with 1,257 parking spaces.

With an eye toward campus sustainability, the garage is fitted with energy-efficient LED lighting and three charging stations for electric vehicles.

The structure is 3 bays wide with 4 elevated levels totaling approximately 262,000 square feet of parking deck. There are 4 exterior stairs and one elevator tower with glass curtain walls and interior precast stair risers and support columns. Interior K-Shear Walls provide lateral stability. Exterior wall paneling has split window detailing and thin brick inlay.

Dailey Precast, LLC of Shaftsbury, Vermont manufactured and supplied the precast concrete components for the project. BL Companies, of Meriden, Connecticut was both the architect and engineer.

This beautiful parking structure is a welcome and much needed addition to the campus. Both architecturally aesthetic and structurally durable, this structure will meet the parking needs for decades to come.
